Korea has a new student application who is looking for a job!

Job Korea has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hirediversity, an administrative service provider for international students in Korea, to aid foreign jobseekers. Job Korea recently launched KLiK, a recruiting platform for foreigners, and this partnership aims to assist both jobseekers and local employers.

Hirediversity, via its Hirevisa app, offers services such as registration for jobseekers, deposit protection, and banking assistance. The app is used by 81% of international students in Seoul and has partnerships with 110 colleges nationwide.

The collaboration will enhance services, covering visa administration and job recruitment for international students and other foreign jobseekers. A Job Korea official expressed optimism that this partnership will help foreigners succeed in Korea by easing their transition from study to employment.

Korea has recovered its population

As of November 1, 2023, South Korea's total population increased by 0.2% to 51.77 million, marking the first rise in three years, driven by a 10.4% increase in foreign residents. This surge in foreigners, up by 180,000 to 1.94 million, came after the COVID-19 pandemic and the government's extension of working visa programs.

However, the number of South Korean nationals fell by 0.2% to 49.84 million, continuing a three-year decline. The country faces demographic challenges, including a record-low fertility rate of 0.72 and an aging population. The working-age population decreased by 140,000 to 36.54 million, accounting for 70.6% of the total. Those aged 65 and above made up 18.6%, up from 17.7% the previous year.

Seoul's population was 9.39 million, 18.1% of the total, while Gyeonggi Province had 13.82 million residents, or 26.7% of the total.
