Korea and the Czech Republic will establish a nuclear industry alliance during President Yoon's state visit.

President Yoon Suk Yeol is set to make an official state visit to the Czech Republic from September 19 to 22, marking the first visit by a South Korean president to the country in nearly nine years. His trip aims to establish a nuclear alliance between the two nations, building on the Czech government's recent decision to select Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power as the preferred bidder for the $17.3 billion Dukovany nuclear power plant project.

During his visit, Yoon will engage in a series of diplomatic efforts to strengthen the strategic partnership between South Korea and the Czech Republic, covering sectors like nuclear power, science, technology, education, and human exchange. He will hold a summit with Czech President Petr Pavel, participate in a Korea-Czech Business Forum, visit a nuclear power facility, and sign several memorandums of understanding (MOUs) to institutionalize cooperation in various fields.

Yoon's visit is also seen as an opportunity to advance South Korea's presence in the global nuclear market. A delegation of around 50-60 South Korean companies, including major conglomerates like Doosan and Hyundai Motor Group, will accompany him to further boost economic cooperation. Additionally, Yoon will meet with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and other parliamentary leaders to deepen bilateral ties across political and economic spheres.

As the two countries approach the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership in 2025, Yoon's visit is expected to enhance cooperation and establish a robust nuclear alliance. This partnership could also contribute to a broader global nuclear alliance involving South Korea and the U.S.

Singles in their 40s are invited to participate in a temple dating meetup.

The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism has announced that it is opening up its group dating temple stay program, "I'm Going to the Temple," to participants in their 40s. The program, which is a lighthearted nod to the popular matchmaking show "I'm Solo," was previously available to singles in their 20s and 30s, but this edition will now cater to unmarried men and women born between January 1, 1975, and December 31, 1984.

From the pool of applicants, 10 men and 10 women will be chosen for a 1-night, 2-day temple stay at Hwagye Temple in Seoul’s Gangbuk District, set for November 5 to 6. Since its launch in 2012, the Jogye Order's "Meeting Temple Stay" program has helped foster connections between singles, with its most recent event in July and August at Naksan Temple in Gangwon Province being highly competitive, drawing 70 times more applicants than available spots and resulting in six couples.

Given the demand for opportunities targeting those in their 40s, the Jogye Order has organized this special session. However, unlike previous events, this one will not be open to media coverage. Those interested in participating can apply via a Google Form available on the Korean Buddhist Foundation for Social Welfare's website from September 12 to 20.

BTS has secured the 19th spot on the U.S. Billboard's list of the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century, recognizing the group's groundbreaking achievements in music and cultural influence. Billboard praised BTS for "breaking through ceilings for boy bands, K-pop, and Korean artists in general" while fostering a global community inspired by their message of positivity, love, and connection.

The group’s extraordinary success was compared to that of The Beatles, with BTS earning six No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and six No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200. Billboard highlighted the group’s unique connection with their fans, known as ARMY, and their genre-blending music, top-tier music videos, and dance versatility, which spans from hip-hop to ballet and interpretive dance.

Since last month, Billboard has been unveiling its list of the 25 most influential pop stars in the U.S. in the 21st century, revealing two new stars each week.
