DeepSeek’s AI models achieved ChatGPT-level performance at 95% lower costs using less advanced GPUs, highlighting Korea’s competitive gap.

LG AI Research noted its Exaone 3.5 model was developed for less than DeepSeek V3’s $6 million cost but lacked global recognition. Experts emphasized that strong government support is needed to compete internationally, citing the high costs of GPUs.
