A few month back a South Korea's military has intensified its psychological warfare against North Korea by broadcasting K-pop songs and news through loudspeakers across the border. This action is in response to North Korea's repeated launches of trash-filled balloons into the South, which were themselves a retaliation for anti-Pyongyang leaflets sent by North Korean defectors in South Korea.

The loudspeaker broadcasts, which include K-pop hits by BTS and messages encouraging North Korean soldiers to defect, began at 1 p.m. and will continue until 10 p.m. each day. The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) warned that North Korea's provocative actions could result in severe consequences and emphasized that the responsibility for the current tensions lies with the North Korean regime. South Korea is closely monitoring the situation in cooperation with the U.S. military.
